Hi, I’m Alison, the founder of Nearshore. The HR Edit. Originally from Cambridgeshire, I studied in Manchester and spent over 15 years in London working in HR with some of the world’s most dynamic industries including creative-media companies, from film to broadcast to VFX to gaming.

A few years ago, I moved to Croatia and saw an opportunity to offer UK businesses a better alternative: affordable, high-quality HR support without the headaches of offshore providers or the high costs and restrictions of UK-based consultants.

Based in Croatia, I combine British expertise with the convenience of a 1-hour time difference to help UK media businesses thrive. My goal? To take the stress out of HR so you can focus on what really matters: growing your business and being creative entrepreneurs.

About Us

After years of working in London’s fast-paced creative-media industry, I saw a growing problem: companies were struggling to afford the HR support they needed as the salaries for HR Professionals sky rocketed, while offshore providers (from far flung shores) often left businesses feeling disconnected due to time zone differences and cultural misalignment. That’s when I realised the solution was right under my nose: nearshoring. Living in Croatia, I could offer the expertise of a London-based HR professional at a fraction of the cost, with the added convenience of a 1-hour time difference and seamless communication.
